Brand New Social Inclusion Wellbeing League 2024

Lancashire FA in partnership with Cumberland FA are pleased to announce the launch of a new social wellbeing inclusion league.

The league will be designed for teams from a wellbeing/social background, who want to play fixtures against similar teams locally.

With the focus being social inclusion, the league will offer those with little to no access to a competitive football offer to suits their needs and to support those with their mental health while using the power of football.

The league will have county-based divisions with opportunities for cross county competition during the season.

The format of the league will be flexible, with the format being anything between 6 v 6 to 11v11. Match lengths will be between 60 and 90 minutes. Teams will be granted funding to start up and support throughout.

Who the league is for:

Mental Health Teams
Teams from a wellbeing background (e.g. weight loss)
- Players with physical health referrals
Recreational/social teams
Small sided teams
Social inclusion teams - For example:
- Homelessness
- Service Veterans
- LGBTQ+ 

Who the league is not for:
 
Teams / players already playing regularly in a traditional Saturday/Sunday/Veterans league

Eligible teams will be invited on an initial Microsoft Teams meeting which will be held at 7pm on Monday 2nd September 2024 to discuss the league.
