Lancashire FA Appoints Rachel Brown-Finnis and Steve Daley MBE as Independent Directors
Lancashire Football Association is delighted to announce the appointment of two new Directors to our Board – Rachel Brown-Finnis and Steve Daley MBE.
Rachel is a former England international goalkeeper, with 82 caps for England, and played for the likes of Liverpool and Everton during her career. She has played in three FA Women’s Cup Finals, four European Championships and two World Cups, and she represented Team GB at the 2012 London Olympics. Since retiring from the game, she regularly appears on BBC & TNT and advocates to get more women and girls involved in football.
Steve is an ex-England Para Player with 150 caps for England, and was captain of the Partially Sighted England Team from 1995 -2020 making him the longest servicing England Captain in history. He played in two World Cup finals and is passionate about making the game more inclusive, more diverse and more accessible for everyone.
Lancashire FA Chair, David Flory OBE said: “We’re very pleased that these two highly regarded individuals, within such priority areas for football, have joined our journey to deliver football for all across Lancashire. We look forward to their contributions and the insights that they will share to support development of the game.”
Lancashire FA CEO, Simon Gerrard said: “Both Rachel and Steve are prominent figures in the world of football, and we’re delighted to welcome them to the Board of Directors. They will undoubtedly use their vast expertise and experience to bring new and innovative ideas to the Association.”
