EFL Match Official Oliver Langford referees 500th match

His first match in the middle took place in Lancashire

Congratulations to EFL Match Official, Oliver Langford, who refereed his 500th EFL match between Leeds United and Portsmouth in the Championship on August 10.

Despite starting out as a referee in 1995, his career went to the next level in 2008 when he was promoted to the Referees list and officiated his first Football League game here in Lancashire – Rochdale v Barnet on August 30.

Langford has since refereed two Play-Off Semi-Finals and the FA Youth Cup Final between Chelsea and Manchester City in 2017.

Over the course of his remarkable career he’s officiated many Lancashire clubs, including Preston North End who he’s refereed 25 times and for 19 of Blackburn Rovers’ games.

A massive congratulations to Oli on this amazing achievement.
