Remembering our good friend, Joyce Pickles
Everyone at Lancashire FA is deeply saddened to announce our good friend, Joyce Pickles, passed away peacefully this weekend.
Joyce served Lancashire FA for over a decade as Marketing and Sponsorship Consultant, using her contacts within the industry to dramatically improve the commercial aspects of the Association.
She was a much loved and tremendously respected friend of everyone at Lancashire FA and beyond.
Lancashire FA’s Head of Commercial and Operations, David Chell, said: “Joyce showed tremendous attitude and passion for her work across all aspects of the commercial operations since she joined Lancashire FA 13 years ago.”
“She had an unquestionable knowledge and impact in gaining sponsors for many of our County Cup competitions, using the contacts she had on a national basis. This is one example of exactly what she will be remembered so fondly for.”
“It was a pleasure to work alongside her, and she will be greatly missed from everyone at Lancashire FA.”
Chief Executive Officer, Simon Gerrard said: “Joyce had an incredible impact on grassroots football across Lancashire.”
“Her exceptional work in securing the continued sponsorship of Dr Oetker to the Referee Department’s Mini Whistlers campaign, was a specific example of her hard work and dedication to gain, and continually improve relationships with sponsors and partners throughout grassroots football within the county.”
“We are all deeply saddened and shocked to hear of her passing, and all of our thoughts go out to Joyce’s children, grand-children and wider family at this sad time.”
Rest in peace, Joyce.
