Lostock St Gerard’s crowned U16 Youth Cup Champions
Both teams fought hard to be victorious, but Lostock just had the edge over Panthers, winning the game by goals coming from Ewan Dawson and Jay Smith.

A swift counterattack from Lostock saw a well saved effort from Sam Hunt as Ben Jackson delivered a cross that met the right foot of James Deacon.
It was a closely contested first half, but it was Panthers’ keeper Hunt who denied the strikes of Jackson to keep it 0-0.
An early chance bloomed for the Panthers as George Green hit an effort the first time which went just wide of the post.
But Lostock looked dominant, one of their best chances was created by a mistake from the Panthers, Noah Gregory drove with the ball as he faced a one on one with the keeper that was well saved.
It was Ewan Dawson who broke the deadlock as the defender capitalised on Hunt dropping the ball from a cross which narrowly went over the line.
Panthers’ best chance came from a set piece a whipped free kick bent past the wall but was pushed wide from opposing keeper Josh Taylor.
However, Jay Smith netted Lostock’s second the striker pounced upon a flick on and buried the game making it 2-0 in the 74th minute.
